Past Projects
MGA Connectors¨ has been involved in many challenging projects during the last 13 years, where our engineering and manufacturing skills are put to the test. A few of these projects are the Castle Park Amusements in Abbottsford for which compression and tension rings were supplied and installed, and the South Surrey Ice Arena roof structure.

Contributions To The Industry
MGA Connectors¨ contributions to the industry have been through its assistance to the Canadian Construction Material Center (CCMC) in their effort to establish a Canadian testing method for light gauge connectors. MGA Connectors¨ provided it's fully computerized testing facility, along with highly trained technicians and its proprietary analysis program to the engineering firm commissioned by CCMC to develop the testing method. |
The testing machine parameters, and pre-and post test inputs of MGA Connectors¨ have been adopted by CCMC as part of their testing requirements.
Testing and Approval
At its inception 13 years ago, MGA Connectors¨ was the first Canadian company with a fully engineered and approved catalogue and this is true even today. Our initial tests were done at Warnock Hersey Professional Services LTD. testing facility. In 1992 we brought a fully computerized testing facility in house, and retained the same agency to witness our tests. In house testing facility provided us with the ability to increase our research for new products, improve on the existing hanger designs, and give opinions on varying type of site installations required by project engineers.
After an extensive testing to re-evaluate the hanger capacities based on Limit States Design, MGA Connectors¨ became the first company to have received approval for their line of I-joists products from Canadian Construction Material Center (CCMC).
History of MGA Connectors¨
In the past thirteen years, MGA Connectors¨ has grown from a five employee, 3,000 square feet operation to 45 employees and 50,000 square feet operation. We attribute our success in being able to understand the needs of our customers and in providing them with products and services in a timely and efficient manner. For example, based on our customers requests, we have strived to eliminate product overlap providing our customers with a minimum number of stock keeping units, and eliminating the need for carrying an extensive inventory.
Our philosophy has always been to approach the industry from an engineering point of view. We believe that every connector used in the construction industry should be fully supported by testing and backed by engineering.
With our testing, engineering approval process, and up to date literature, we at MGA Connectors¨ have put ourselves in the forefront of the connectors industry in Canada.
Thirteen years ago we adopted the logo "Setting the Standard" to focus attention on the fact that before us there were no standards in Canada for testing and approval of light gauge hangers. The same statement is true today, as we are the first company in Canada to have a Limit State Design catalogue in accordance with section 10.10CSA086 - 94.
